Scope and content
Two large rolled designs for an alter cross for St Hild's College, Durham, completed in 1961. There is also one large flat design for a carpet at the College, undated. A note on the back states that although the carpet was originally commissioned for St Hild's College, it was later laid in Bede's College in Durham. The note also states that the carpet was woven at Wilton by an elderly workman who was skilled in the art of hand weaving.
