A collection of tools designed and devised by Leonard C. Evetts for use in his lettering and stained glass work

A collection of tools designed and devised by Leonard C. Evetts for use in his lettering and stained glass work. These include three rulers used to create lead lines for his window designs, double pencils spliced together with masking tape so that two lines can be drawn together and a double headed wooden tool which holds two pieces of chalk which he used for making large symmetrical lines for blackboard demonstrations. Refer to pages 9-10 of the book 'Leonard Evetts, Master Designer'.

All Saints' Church, Apia, Western Samoa.

Leonard Evetts' project files relating to the Church of All Saints', Apia, Western Samoa. The main file covers two projects - the design and execution of the east window, installed 1959, and the later design and execution of four windows in the apse, installed 1970. The apse windows were later used as a design for postal stamps to celebrate Christmas 1972 in Samoa.

This file contains sketches, a large bundle of commission correspondence, photographs, and items relating to the postal stamps. Photographs of the completed windows, taken in the 1990s, have also been inserted into this file, presumedly during preparations for the posthumously published book on Evetts' work 'Master Designer'.

A second file contains a cardboard mounted design of the last supper for the east window project (1958-1959) and a watercolour painting of All Saints Church, dated 1966.

The file contains detailed designs, photographs, and commission correspondence.

All Saints' Church, Lanchester, County Durham.

Leonard Evetts' project files relating to All Saints' Church, Lanchester, County Durham.

The main file relates to the conservation of three panels of 13th Century glass in the Church, date unknown but the photographs are dated 1967. This file contains photographs and notes. A second file containing three large rolled drawings of these windows is presumed to be of the same date but separated due to size. There is fourth large rolled design, dated 1966, which contains a design for a silver cross and candlesticks for the Church alter. It is not known whether these designs were realised.
