Scope and content
Leonard Evetts' project files relating to a number of projects at Holy Cross Church, Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne.
The documents in the main file cover the date range 1962-1964 and relate to the design of a platform at the font and a candle fitting in the west wall. The platform appears to have been executed but it's not clear whether the candle fitting was. This file contains sketches, detailed designs, and commission correspondence. There is also a large rolled design drawing of both the platform and the candle fitting housed separately due to its size.
In a second file is a detailed watercolour design for the window in the Lady Chapel, designed and executed by Evetts and installed 1964-1965.
Evetts' designed a sanctuary lamp and processional cross for this church, both completed 1960-1961, but neither file appears to relate to these works.
