Letters from Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (1836-1917), physician

Letter dated 11 Jul 1874 written at 20 Upper Berkeley Street addressed to Mr Hart. Anderson enquires whether a new parliamentary bill will allow doctors qualified abroad to to sign death certificates without adding the disclaimer 'non-registered'. Suggests that this could be an argument for allowing women to qualify as doctors from British degree courses. Letter dated 9 Aug 1873 written at 9 Lyndhurst Road, Hampstead to Mr Hart. Anderson requests contact details for Mrs H. Lawson on behalf of her sister in law Mrs Marshall regarding studying in Paris. Also makes reference to a letter in the Times advising students to go to Paris. The recipient of both letters is likely Ernest Abraham Hart (1865-1898). Medical journalist.
