Comparative Evaluation Report on Media Coverage of Sir Liam's Annual Reports from 2004 to 2008

Consists of comparative analysis all media coverage given to Sir Liam's Annual Reports from 2004 to 2008 and the specific issues discussed in each.

Includes a commentary by way of executive summary, tables and graphs on the overall and issue specific coverage, the media formats they were covered by, top sources, spokespeople and authors, potential demographics reached by social class, age and sex, and the positive and negative media interpretation given in the coverage.

Consultation on Children, Young People and Alcohol

This public consultation report, which includes Sir Liam's condensed draft guidance on the consumption of alcohol by children and young people in the form of a five-point plan, was produced as a joint venture between Sir Liam, the Department of Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Health. Aimed to achieve a better understanding of the risks involved in alcohol consumption aimed at parents and children and young people themselves. Also includes a forward by Children, Schools and Families Secretary Ed Balls, and Health Secretary Alan Johnson, background information to the report, and the quantitative and qualitative evidence base.

Served as a consultation for both Sir Liam's Special Report Guidance on the Consumption of Alcohol by Children and Young People and the supporting Children, Young People and Alcohol: Advice and Information for Parents and Carers. The consultation ran for 12 weeks seeking the views of young people, carers, parents and other interested parties and closed on 23 April 2009. Sir Liam's draft guidance featured on pages 19 to 23.
