Scope and content
A collection of working drawings for stages of architectural project. They are assumed to consist of tender and/or construction plans, sections and elevations with associated revisions. Rolls 1-7 have not yet been catalogued at item level.
The dimensions of the working drawings range from 420mm x 300mm, 860mm x 600mm and 1000mm x 800mm.
Rolls 8-38 can be summarised as follows:
• Four rolls of initial tender and early stage working drawings consisting of context and site plans, building edge section sketches, portico plans and detail elevations, 1992. Drawing refs are ECC/TD/03 - /06; ECC/WD/06; /09; ECC/SK/03; /05 series.
• Ten rolls of superseded working drawings consisting of general arrangement, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections and external details, 1994. Drawing refs are predominantly ECC/WD/04 - /09 and ECC/FS series. Contains revisions A-D.
• Three rolls of working drawings focusing on core arrangement plans and details, 1994-1995. Drawing refs are predominantly ECC/WD/05. Contains revisions C-F.
• Four rolls of working drawings produced by Ove Arup and Swift Horsman Ltd concerning road layout and internal fixture plans, sections. Dated 1993-1995.
• Three rolls of tender and construction working drawings consisting of plans, sections, elevations and details focusing on the auditorium, 1993-1995. Drawing refs are predominantly ECC/WD/04 and ECC/WD/05. Contains revisions B-G.
• Two rolls of reduced scale working drawings, consisting of plans, sections and elevations relating to cores 1-4, the entrance foyer, metalwork, lift arrangement and general arrangement details, 1995. Drawing refs are ECC/WD/05; /09; /18; ECC/SK/03 and /04 series.
• Three rolls of site survey and context plans inclusive of the International Conference Centre, Conference Square, Sheraton Hotel/Health Club titled under ‘Lothian Road Site.’ 1995-1997. Drawing refs: ELRS-SD-02 series, revisions B and C.
• 1 roll of building warrant drawings for services, cladding and ground layout for the International Conference Centre, Conference Square and Sheraton Health Club produced by Ove Arup, 1997-1998. Drawing ref: 47902.
• 1 roll of mixed sketches on tracing paper for the International Conference Centre, undated and no drawing references present.
