A sixteen page publication containing an edited version of a talk given at the RIBA in 1975 by Terry Farrell and Nicholas Grimshaw. Titled 'Survival by Design', the lecture had four themes: conversion/rehabilitation, approaches to housing, planning/urban design, and industrial buildings/offices. The publication features a number of Farrell/Grimshaw Partnership projects including Runnymede Industrial Unit (also known as the Citroen Distribution Centre), the International Students' Hostel at Paddington, the Colonnades development, the Island Records offices in Hammersmith, the Total Experience Cinema conversion project in Bath, the Maunsel Housing Society Augustus Road development in Wimbledon, the Park Road Flats, the Millman Street flats, the Clarendon Road flats, the Colonnades development, the Byrom Street development, Rotork Controls factory in Bath, Editions Van de Velde, Reading industrial unit.
