Five year report of the Northumbrian Handicrafts Guild. The Guild’s Annual Report was suspended during the war. As such this report is for the five war years in condensed form. Enlistment took some of the teachers and many of the pupils. No annual exhibitions were held and other war-related difficulties were experienced. The Guild’s main focus during this period was the organisation of handicraft classes for soldiers in hospitals. The report includes four coloured plates illustrating work done in the wounded soldiers’ classes.
