Consists of 165 electronic PDF copies of alerts sent to doctors and other management and medical professionals within the NHS by Sir Liam during his time as Chief Medical Officer, bringing subjects to their attention which require immediate action.
From 2004, as well as the Chief Medical Officer conveying urgent communications, the National Patient Safety Agency issued urgent communications through the Safety Alert Broadcasts System (SABS). Included link to an electronic response form.
From September 2008, all CMO Urgent Communications and Safety Alert Broadcast System (SABS) alerts to the NHS were issued through the Central Alerting System (CAS). CAS replaced both the Safety Alert Broadcast System (SABS) and the Chief Medical Officer’s Public Health Link (PHL).
