The collection also contains a number of annotated scrapbooks which trace the history of Loebl's engineering enterprises through photographs, newspaper cuttings and other ephemera.

Herbert Loebl's academic collection contains his early student notebooks from his degree studies in Electrical Engineering, and notes and source material for his subsequent doctoral thesis and Jewish history research. The collection also includes his certificates and various degree ceremony photographs.

Herbert Loebl received various awards during his lifetime and his personal collection includes photographs, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and letters of congratulations regarding his many honours.

Consists of photograph of Sir Liam in front of a commemorative plaque with the names of Newcastle University's Sub-Faculty of Dentistry Founders and Benefactors Lecturers. Sir Liam's name is included, having given this lecture in 2000.

Covers Loebl's academic career from his BSc in Electrical Engineering (awarded 1949 by King's College, Durham University, now part of Newcastle University), MPhil (awarded 1978 by Durham University), Phd (awarded 1985 by Newcastle University) and a series of lecture courses on Jewish history which Loebl delivered at Newcastle University in the 1980s. Contains certificates and degree ceremony photographs, early student notebooks on electrical engineering, research notes and source material relating to his doctoral thesis and Jewish history research.

Consists of copy of book review by Sir Liam of Evidence-Based Health Care, by J A Muir Gray. Stresses the need for an evidence based movement in policy making and management in health care and recommends the book as an important start. Sir Liam writes in his role as Professor of Applied Epidemiology at Newcastle University.
