Notations consist of thoughts and criticisms written in pencil by Sid, his friends, and tutors. It is indicated on some that they were written during Sid's time at Fircroft College, and during time underground at Dean and Chapter. Includes letters from Clifford Leech from University College Durham, Arnold Rattenbury, literary editor of 'Our Time' and an unidentified sender with their thoughts; and an article written by Sid on the Spennymoor Settlement Sketching Club's Twelfth Annual Exhibition with mention of Norman Cornish, and Herbert Dees. Includes poems The Last Hour, and A Widow Wept.
