a-n North Essentials was an annual directory of professional contacts for artists, art graduates and arts organisers working within Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland, Teesside and Tyne and Wear. Editions held: 1997-2004.

This report, produced with the assistance of safety experts from various fields, aimed to ensure lessons were learned from past adverse events in the NHS and reduce the risks to patients in the future. It identified key areas to enable the NHS to reform its approach to safety and made associated recommendations including an independent reporting scheme, a programme of learning into adverse events and enhanced learning from error.
