Employment with English Electric Company
From 1957 until 1964 Professor Randell was employed in the Atomic Power Division of the English Electric Company Ltd, Whetstone, Leicester, including working on compilers for the ALGOL 60 language. European Union ESPRIT Research Programme
ESPRIT was a European Union programme of research managed by the European Commission Directorate General for Industry from 1983 to 1998. Professor Randell was an advisor to the Programme and a collaborator within it. See BR/9 for the Information Society Technologies Research Programme which succeeded ESPRIT.
