The lecture was delivered at Armstrong College under the auspices of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Society. The article summarises the points covered by Robert Burns Dick in the lecture, including need for a permanent exhibition hall connected to local industries and issues relating to the newly proposed civic centre. This copy of the original was created 1991.
