Consists of the diary of William Brewis.

Includes an agricultural account for the year 1848. Brewis also speaks of the spreading revolution in Europe, initially starting in France and the subsequent chartist marches in England, rebellion in Ireland and the abandonment of the Pope from Rome.

Letters relating to India

Includes letters relating to gaining employment in service in India and intended movements of troops in India in 1857. Many letters are missing details of recipient and author and none appear to be to or from Charles.
Correspondents include William Monsell 1st Baron Emly, Ross Donelly Mangles and Sir Charles Wood.
