The main file covers two projects - the design and execution of the east window, installed 1959, and the later design and execution of four windows in the apse, installed 1970. The apse windows were later used as a design for postal stamps to celebrate Christmas 1972 in Samoa.

Photographs of the completed windows, taken in the 1990s, have also been inserted into this file, presumedly during preparations for the posthumously published book on Evetts' work 'Master Designer'.

The Bamburgh Shipping Company was a subsidiary of the Sheaf Steam Shipping Company which ran ore carriers and bulk carriers in the iron ore trade; all of the ships were given North Northumbrian names. The company operated between 1956 and 1976.
