Leonard Evetts' project file relating to a number of projects at Christ Church, North Shields, Tyne and Wear. Evetts’ work for Christ Church spanned from 1950-1964 and comprised the following projects: The design and execution of windows in the chancel nave and gallery installed 1950-1951; the three-light Great East Window depicting the apocalypse installed 1952-3; the tower window 1956-7; windows in the chancel and the Mariners' Chapel 1957-8; a memorial window in the Lady Chapel 1960-1; the design of a sanctuary lamp and the restoration of pictures, an alter cross and a flag, all completed 1952-5; the glazing of a fanlight in 1957-8; the design of an ewer for the font in 1963-4.
The file contains one detailed design of the Mariners' Chapel window (depicting three historic lifeboats commemorating the Lifeboat Service), photographs of the East Window and the window in the Mariners’ Chapel, and one design for proposed glazing for the west window of the nave (presumably part of the 1950 commission). There is also one large design layout for the middle light of the Great East Window depicting the apocalypse, housed separately due to its size.
