World War II

Consists of diaries, correspondence, documents and documents created or collected during, or in the immediate aftermath, of World War II, primarily relating to the 4th Battalion Northumberland (Hexham) Home Guard. Also includes documents relating to Brown's time assisting in the training of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers Army Cadet Force.

World War I

Consists of correspondence, memorabilia, documents and artefacts created or collected during, or in the immediate aftermath, of World War I.

'Welcome Home' Events

Consists of invitations, pamphlets and programmes relating to events celebrating soldiers returning from war, and in particular those who were released from Prisoner of War camps.

Visits to France

Consists of photographs, notes and correspondence from Thomas Baker Brown's trips to France to visit places of significance to him in relation to his time as a soldier in World War I.

Tyneside Scottish Cloth Badges

Consists of four cloth badges, including one for service over seas, and the tartan which was worn behind them which were worn by soldiers of the Tyneside Scottish regiment in World War I.

Tyneside Scottish Association

Consists of letters and programmes in relation to the Tyneside Scottish Association which formed after World War I to bring together and to remember soldiers who had served with the Tyneside Scottish regiment.
