Contained within an envelope addressed to A.M. Duff Esq in 1938. Several of the letters focus on an application for an academic position at Aberdeen University in 1911.

The letter contains the eulogy of Mrs. Lizzie Taylor Duff. Enclosed along with the letter is a newspaper cutting with a eulogy to Mr. W.S. Mackay who died in South Africa. 'August 25th 1900' is written in pen upon the cutting.
