Written in the third person Home accepts an invitation to attend the delivery of the Hunterian Oration in the Royal College of Surgeons by Mr Hawkins. Letter written at Sackville Street, undated, to Mr Clift. Home requests use of the blunderbuss for Mr Marsh. Letter has annotations detailing the cost of the blunderbuss. Letter written at Sackville Street dated 2 Feb 1813 to Mr Clift. Home gives medical advice to Clift and suggests he drinks ale. Letter written at Sackville Street dated 24 Jan 1820 to Mr William Clift. Covering letter accompanying a report for reformatting. The letters are accompanied by a paper folder with manuscript biographical notes on Home. The recipient of three of the letters, William Clift, is likely to be William Clift (1775-1849), museum curator and scientific illustrator.

Prescription dated 25 May 1829 'for Rose, Esqr'. Prescription is initialied by Arnott. Item mounted on paper.

Letter dated 14 May 1841 to James Hoggins of the Literary Society regarding Pettigrew's 'Medical Portrait Gallery'. Date taken from postmark. Letter to an unnamed recipient regarding a case of carcinoma lingua [tongue cancer]. The letter is mounted on card, along with a print of an engraving of Cooper by Sir L Lawrence.

Letter dated 30 Jan to Mr Steel regarding a prescription for pills for Lord Bridgewater. Undated letter written at Curzon Street to an unnamed recipient expressing thanks for the acceptance of gifts.

Undated letter written at Bruton Street to an unnamed recipient accepting an invitation to dinner. Letter dated Oct 5 to an unnamed recipient requesting corrections to a paper. Also includes a copy of a portrait engraving of Travers by W. Behnes. This is mounted on paper with handwritten biographical notes on Travers.

Letter written at the Societe de Chirurgie de Paris to Sir George Ballingall, Altamount, Blairgowrie. Covering letter sent with a review of Ballingall's pamphlet 'grand ouvrage' and a portrait 'in memory of his father', Baron Dominique-Jean Larrey (1766-1842), physician and military surgeon. The recipient is Sir George Ballingall (1780-1855), physician and surgeon.
