Jane Holland was born in Ilford in 1966. After university and a time living in France, she moved to the Isle of Man, where she had two children and became a snooker champion, an ex-wife, a fallen star and a magazine editor. She won an Eric Gregory Award for her poetry in 1996. A selection of her poetry appears in Maura Dooley's Bloodaxe anthology of new women poets, Making for Planet Alice (1997)
