Beda Higgins writes poetry and prose, and has various publications in prose and poetry anthologies and collections including 'Wiggy', first prizewinner of the Mslexia short story competition 2009. Her first collection of short stories was published in 2011 and was chosen as a Read Regional Recommendation. She is the recipient of two Northern Writer Awards and two Queen's Nursing Institute Awards.
