Relates to the announcement of the intended bequest of the estate to the Trust.
Also includes a paper entitled England's Country Houses: The Case for their Preservation read at the National Trust AGM in 1934, a press release announcing the bequest, a pamphlet entitled National Trust News , Volume 1 Number 4 (September 1936) announcing the bequest, a reproduction of a book introduction written by Charles to commemorate his donation, a pamphlet entitled The Bequest of Wallington to the National Trust by Charles Trevelyan , a transcript of a broadcast from Newcastle made on March 23rd 1937 and related newspaper cuttings.
Correspondents include W P Crozier, George Lansbury, Marquess of Lothian, Henry W Nevinson, Anna M Philips, Arthur Ponsonby, M Philips Price, George Macaulay Trevelyan and J C Wedgwood.

Appraisal, destruction and scheduling

During re-cataloguing in 2018 one later item, photocopies of reminiscences by a family friend written made in 1993, was relocated from the archive into the library's administrative files.
