Doreen King's background is in science, she holds a PhD in Chemistry and she was awarded the British Technology Group Prize for Research, City University. She has written four books on Wildlife and these are closely linked to her zen poetry.

Nigel Kilworth was born in Hitchin, Hertforshire in 1949. He grew up in Letchworth Garden City and attended Jacob Krmaer College of Art (1973 - 1974) and Wolverhampton Polytechnic Fine Art Department, (1974 - 1979). He has worked as an artist in York.
